A struggling woman

Marium is the daughter of a poor family. At the age of fifteen her parents gave her in marriage with a poor boy. He was very lazy. He does not do any work. So Marium had to work hard to support her family. But she was always anxious what will happen if she gives birth to a female child.

Finally she gave birth to female child. Her husband became unhappy and began to behave rudely with Marium. At one stage she left her husband’s house and went to Dhaka with her daughter in search of work. There she took a job in a garments factory. Her daughter began to grow up. One day Marium came to know that Government had made education free for girls up to H.S.C. So she sent her daughter to school. Her daughter was a brilliant student. She made good results both in the S.S.C. and H.S.C. and became a primary school teacher. At last Marium began to see better days in her life.
