Clause vs Phrase:

Clause বুঝতে হলে  আগে আপনাকেে finite verb এবং Non-finite verb বুঝতে হবে।

> Finite Verb-এর (সমাপিকা ক্রিয়া) মাধ্যমে বক্তার বক্তব্য সম্পূর্ণরুপে প্রকাশ করা যায়।

> Non- Finite Verb-এর (অসমাপিকা ক্রিয়া) মাধ্যমে বক্তার বক্তব্য সম্পূর্ণরুপে প্রকাশ করা যায় না।

Finite Verb চেনার সহজ উপায়:

Verb এর--
1. Present Form
Example:- do/ does, go/goes, write /writes ect.

2. Past Form
Example:- did, Went, wrote etc.

Verb এর 1 & 2 form গুলো নিশ্চিত Finite Verb.কারণ, এগুলার মাধ্যমে বক্তার মনের ভাব সম্পূর্ণরুপে প্রকাশিত হতে পারে।
যেমন: He goes to school.
           He went to school.

[এখানে, 1st sentence -এ goes & 2nd sentence এ went হল Finite verb। যেহেতু Finite Verb এর মাধ্যমে বক্তব্য সম্পূর্ণ হয়, সেহেতু একটি পূর্ণাঙ্গ বাক্য হতে হলে Finite Verb থাকা চাই ]

Non- Finite Verb চেনার সহজ উপায়:

Verb এর--

3. Past Participle Form (V3)
Example:- Gone, Done, Written etc.

4.  Present Participle Form (Verb+ing)
Example:- Going, doing, writing etc.

5. Infinitive (To + verb এর Base form)
Example:- To go, To do, To write etc.

6. Perfect Participle Form (Having + v3)
Example:- Having gone, Having done, Having written etc.

Verb এর 3, 4, 5 & 6 form গুলো নিশ্চিত Non- Finite Verb. কারণ, এগুলার মাধ্যমে বক্তার মনের ভাব সম্পূর্ণরুপে প্রকাশিত হতে পারে না।
যেমন:
Being a student, I sat for exam.
Having eaten rice, I went to school.

[এখানে, 1st sentence-এ Being & 2nd sentence-এ Having eaten হল Non- Finite Verb। যেহেতু Non- Finite Verb এর মাধ্যমে বক্তব্য অসম্পূর্ণ থেকে যায়, সেহেতু একটি পূর্ণাঙ্গ বাক্য হতে হলে Finite Verb থাকা চাই। তাই প্রথম sentence-এ sat এবং 2nd sentence -এ went, Finite Verb এর কাজ করেছে।]

তবে verb 3,4 & 5 এর আগে যদি কোনো Auxiliary Verb চলে আসে, তাহলে তারা উভয়ে মিলে Finite Verb এর কাজ করে।

যেমন:

যেমন:
> I done the work. (এটি ভুল বাক্য। কারণ, এখানে 'done' Non- finite verb. শুধু Non- Fine verb  দিয়ে বাক্য হয়না।)
> I have done the work. (এটি সঠিক বাক্য। কারণ, এখানে 'have done' একটি Finite Verb।)
> He going to school. (এটি ভুল বাক্য। কারণ, এখানে 'going'' Non- finite verb. শুধু Non- Finite verb  দিয়ে বাক্য হয়না।)
> He is going to school. (এটি সঠিক বাক্য। কারণ, এখানে 'is going ' একটি Finite Verb)।

Clause : A clause is a group of related words that contains both a subject and verb. অথ্যাত Clause এ একটি subject ও finite vrerb (Subject + finite verb) থাকে।
Examples:
She is hungry.
I am feeling well today.

Phrase:  A phrase is a group of words without a subject-verb component, used as a single part of speech. অথ্যাত Phrase এ কোন Subject এবং finite verb থাকে না।
Examples:
Best friend (this phrase acts as a noun)
Needing help (this phrase acts as an adjective; see Adjectives and Adverbs)
With the blue shirt (this prepositional phrase acts as an adjective; see Prepositions)
For twenty days (this prepositional phrase acts as an adverb).

Clause Marker: A clause marker is a connecting word that connects both dependent and independent clauses.

Some common markers are: after, although, as, as if, because, before, even if, even though, if, in order to, since, though, unless, until, whatever, when, whenever, whether, while, and, but, for, or, nor, so, and yet, also, consequently, furthermore, however, moreover, nevertheless, and therefore.

Examples:
1. When Rahim studied in the Local Shop for his Physics quiz, it was very noisy.
2. Rahim studied in the Local Shop for his physics quiz, but it was hard to concentrate because of the noise.
3. Rahim studied in the Local Shop for his physics quiz; however, it was hard to concentrate because of the noise.
