Conditionals at a Glance:

Conditional Sentences.

1.Zero conditional (নিশ্চিত ঘটনার ক্ষেত্রে)
2.First conditional(ফলাফল সম্ভাব্য হলে)
3.Second conditional(ফলাফল প্রায় অসম্ভব)
4.Third conditional(অাদৌ সম্ভব নয় এর ক্ষেত্রে)

1.Zero Conditional:(নিশ্চিত­ ঘটনার ক্ষেত্রে)

If+present indefinite +present indefinite.

If you heat water to 100 degrees it boils.

2.First Conditional:(ফলাফল সম্ভাব্য হলে)

If+present indefinite +Future Indefinite

If it rains, they will not play.

3.Second Conditional:(ফলাফল প্রায় অসম্ভবের ক্ষেত্রে)

(a) If+past indefinite +would /could/might +V present form.

If I won the lottery,I would build a house.

(b) If + subject +were/had+would/­could/might+ V present form

If I were a bird,I would fly to you.
If I had money, I would help you.

4.Third Conditional:(অাদৌ সম্ভব নয় এর ক্ষেত্রে)

(a)If+past perfect+subject +would have/could have /might have+Vpp.

If I had seen him,I would have given him the message.

(b) Had+Subject+Vpp+subj­ect +would have/could have/might have+Vpp.

Had I seen him,I would have given him the message.

মনে রাখুন সহজে:
নিশ্চিত ঘটনা বা চিরন্তন সত্যের ক্ষেত্রে দুটি sentence ই present indefinite হবে।

যদি ফলাফল সম্ভাব্য হয় তাহলে প্রথম sentence টি present indefinite অার দ্বিতীয় sentence টি future indefinite হবে।

অার যদি প্রথম sentence টি past হয়। তাহলে অবশ্যই দ্বিতীয় sentence টি ও past tense হবে।
তবে এ ক্ষেত্রে প্রথম sentence টি যদি past simple হয়। তাহলে দ্বিতীয় sentence এ would / could /might +verb এর base form হবে।
অার যদি প্রথম sentence টি past perfect হয়। তাহলে দ্বিতীয় sentence এ would /could /might +have+Vpp হবে।
